The Office Library
Part of the renovation of the Inter IKEA Systems B.V. office included the addition of a library. This served the concentrate principle in the design concept and was an area for people to focus on their work without distractions.
To make the space more intuitive to use, the floor plan was designed so that no two occupants would be facing each other directly. Combined with the use sound absorbing materials and surfaces, this naturally encouraged a quieter workspace. Rather than using the colourful palette found in the rest of the offices, neutral colours were used to further emphasise the high-focus and more serious nature of the space.
One of two live plant walls in the office is incorporated here, which serves to not only bring nature and calm into the Library, but also to provide better overall air quality to the office space, contributing to a better well-being of the occupants.
