The internal exhibition at IKEA of Sweden is an annual event which launches new products and business directives, and is attended by the IKEA's management globally. This room explored the trend of shared living spaces as a consequence of the global urbanization trend. The challenge: How do you fit a livingroom and kitchen for three people in 12 m2?

Solutions have to be small, light, flexible, and moveable to accommodate different activites and group sizes. Kitchen storage space is maximised without overbearing wall cabinets which maintains the feeling of a larger space. There is even extra bedding for guests staying over.
